O is for Omphalophobia #atozchallenge

There once was a man who thought it weird
That every human had a button so absurd
It filled quickly with dirt
When pierced, it hurt
Yet he cleaned it when no purpose it served

(c) Sanch @ Living my Imperfect Life

Note: Omphalophobia is the fear of belly buttons

Now this one is something I never expected! What happens to a person who has this phobia? I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for the inspiration. I might get a short story out of this!

That was so cute! How do you overcome a fear of belly buttons? What do you fear it will do to you? Open up and swallow you from the inside?

Even I didn’t know why humans had belly buttons until I read about child births 😛 But belly buttons are so sexy, no? Why be scared of them 🙂

I’m amazed that you can find a phobia for each letter of the alphabet. This has got to be the strangest phobia so far.

Too amazingly funny! Who would have thought this phobia even ever existed?! 😉 Maybe people with this phobia need to put on weight so they don’t see belly buttons, well at least their own! 😉 <3

That would be a crappy fear to have. Everyone (or almost everyone) has bellybuttons. Not to mention your own. You’d fear yourself!
