Talking about feet {Includes Giveaway}

This is a sponsored post for Scholl

Do you have a foot fetish? I don’t.

But I do have a problem with my feet. I have unusual feet. Feet I don’t like. My toes are all wonky, the nails look weird and well, my feet just struggle. I also found out a couple of years ago that my feet roll inwards and that I have weak joints. Which is not helpful for someone who loves to be active! I struggled with knee problems thanks to my love for hiking and the gym. But after a stint with a physio, things seem a lot better.

The hiking though, apart from putting pressure on my knees, has also been stressing out my poor feet. I wear ugly but protective hiking boots. But I have struggled with blisters depending on the kind of socks I wear. I have also lost toenails. And as for my soles, the less said about them, the better. I have cracked heels and my skin is dry.

Usually after hikes, I have to take extra care of my feet. On other days, I must confess, I’m just plain lazy. When I take care of my feet, I usually scrub it well to get rid of the dirt built up from the hike, peel off dry skin with my hands {yeah, not very pretty}, dry it off and then apply vaseline or my regular moisturiser. Apparently, doing this only occasionally doesn’t help. Which is probably why my feet are crying for help.

Just today, I saw my GP due to concerns of possible dermatitis and she recommended a cream but also suggested I moisturise and look after it every day. Guess I have no option now. Thankfully, I also received a heel balm and a Velvet smooth to help smoothen and hopefully, cover those cracks. Only time will tell how I go.

Now, for the giveaway, you could be in the running to win a Foot Care pack thanks to Scholl. The pack includes:

  • 1x Scholl Fresh Step Antiperspirant Spray

As far as looking after my feet go, I don’t do nearly enough. I’m going to make an effort this week to get my foot spa out and treat myself. My heels are dry and cracked for the first time in my life which isn’t a good look.

It’s a horrible look, isn’t it? I don’t look after my feet too well either and have only ever had 1 pedicure all my life. Going to have to get my act together! Thanks for joining in 🙂

I have to say I’m not very good at looking after my feet – and I’m on them all day with two kids. If I say pretty please and hubby is in a good mood generally my first request is a foot massage! Other than that I go a professional to sort out all my toes – my podiatrist is a lovely bloke and isn’t put off by my smelly feet – what a job!

Hubster is a huge fan of gadgets and gizmos, so I have a foot spa that I like to use every now and then as a treat.

I have a foot spa, yes, so retro daggy, that I use every now and again, and give myself a mini pedi. I find wearing thongs in summer plays havoc with my feet. A few days with socks and runners usually helps to soften the dry cracked skin. One thing I need to do is get some heel balm!

By always only ever cutting my nails straight across the top (not following the shape of the nail) as to ensure no painful ingrown’s. And I have a home made foot loofah block to remove dead skin with, and it works a treat.

My feet take a beating in the garden, so keeping a pumice stone by the garden hose is a prompt to start my regime. After a good scrub I have a shower, repeat the process and slather with moisturiser.

When my feet are really dry and needing a moisture boost, I rub a generous amount of a fabulous, inexpensive hand cream (Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream) over my feet and pop on a pair of cotton socks before bed.

Every night, I apply peppermint foot cream. I make sure my nails are always clipped. I ensure my shoes are properly fitted. My feet are the best part of me, so I look after them 🙂

Having lost one toe nail to ingrown toenails, I make sure all the rest are always trimmed right, and exfoliate and use a good moisturiser on my feet.

To be honest, at the moment I really don’t look after my feet 🙁 I have a 6 month old baby and no time! My feet feel like sandpaper and look like they belong to an 70 year old man!

A pumice stone (used far too irregularly) helps to keep the cracked heels at bay. In winter I will also moisturise my poor tired feet and wear bed socks to bed!

As somebody who gets dry feet and cracked heels easily, I have made footcare a part of my nightly routine… massaging cream into my feet before bed not only keeps them soft and supple, but it relaxes me so I can drift off into sweet dreams! In Winter, I add a pair of socks afterwards to help the cream stay on and moisturise my feet throughout the night while keeping my tootsies warm.

Omggg i’ve been seeing this product everywhere!! I’ve been really wanting to try it because my skin gets so dry during winter as well but I can’t find a good remedy for it
I think the part where it turns the dead skin into dust must’ve been really entertaining :’) Would be pretty cool to try except I really can’t justify the price !!

I have been a person who has neglected her feet in the past but now I have learned to take care of them the hard way. because proper foot care can prevent many foot problems from developing and a person can avoid or moderate such problems . I am glad that I learned that my body needs my attention and care.
