All alone
By myself
On no one I can depend
Have to always fend for myself
Be independent
Not dependent
An adult
Making friends
Brand new
Trying to reach out to people
It’s hard to show my vulnerabilities
Be myself
Flaws galore
Be authentic
Yearn connection
Face rejection
Tired of having my heart broken
To protect myself, I pull away
Shut down
Close up
Be disconnected

The Trinet, created by zion, is a form where Lines 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7 have 2 words, and Lines 3 and 4 have 6 words. This pattern is repeated 2 more times and if centred correctly, it looks like three crosses.

This has been written for the 2017 A to Z Challenge

24 April 2017 at 12:21 pmThe form is interesting, but it’s the poem itself that I could really, really connect to. Almost like it’s about me

25 April 2017 at 12:06 amI almost forgot to read about the form, I was so touched by the poem itself!
Isn’t that the harsh reality about adulthood?
The cynic in me smiles ruefully! 🙂
Happy AtoZing!
