What if
I was sexy like the girl next door
Would that make you want me more?

What if
I was as skinny as those models you see
Would that make you want to sleep with me?

What if
I was blonde and not a brunette
Would you spend more time with me and not forget?

What if
I had boobs that were sized a double D
Would you then take some moments to listen to me?

What if
I was not more intelligent than you
Would you be more secure and remain true?

What if
I let you earn more money than me
Would that pacify your masculinity?

What if
I was a woman who didn’t think for myself
Would you be happier to step in instead?

What if
I was coy, bashful and demure
Would that add to my allure?

What if
I was one to always give in to your needs
Would you then give up your secret deeds?

I am not any of this
And I never will be
I am proud of who I am
I am, but me
If you cannot handle that
It is of no worry
I am happy to live my life
Being independent and free

Welcome Swayambhu! Thanks! Well, I do know not all men are like this…this is to portray the ones that are. I could have done a poem the other way around but it would have been harder (what with me being a woman and all…) but I could have probably done something like:

    What if
    I wasn’t rich
Would you still want to get hitched?
    :p

    How’s that for men??? =D

How I wish every women/girl could say this..could stand for themselves. How I wish we were not forever trying to mold ourselves into someone else’s idea of beauty. We are all beautiful just the way we are. We just need to find the confidence and stand for that..

laws of attraction goes beyond physical and/or economic attributes. as you grow old u love ur partner as whoever s/he is. if the same things which u used to find attractive before now seems like a pain in the a$$ then it wasn’t ‘love’ in the first place.

btw saying all that- my last post was on the science behind ‘what r we looking for in our partner’… and i think i said something very diff thr πŸ˜‰

Nice poem….the song Nu mentioned was not ‘Words’…it was ‘Evrything I do, I do it for you’ by Bryan Adams…

Welcome Rashi! And thanks for the lovely comment. I reckon that someone you love should love you for who you are…and the way you are…I can understand certain behaviours may need change every now and then in all of us…but there’s so many things that we shouldn’t compromise on just to please the other person (intelligence, weight etc…)
