Changes

Changes…

Wrinkles — near my eyes, near my mouth. Laugh lines.

Grey hair — about four to five strands.

And yet, it doesn’t worry me. You hear about women complaining about wrinkles and grey hair. For some reason, it doesn’t bother me. I quite like the lines. I doubt I’ll ever be using any of those anti-wrinkle, anti-aging creams that are constantly advertised. Yes, in the future I may colour my hair. But as of now, I’m quite content with the few strands of grey.

I remember as a teenager, worrying about being fat, too short, having funny teeth, having braces, too dark, too geeky, too plain. All that has changed now.Β

I like that I am dark and tan. I like the wrinkles. I like the strands of gery. I like that I’m a size 8. I am accepting of my appearance. Overall. [True, I wouldn’t want to put on more weight!] And it’s been a long time since I’ve liked the way I look. I haven’t become prettier. I haven’t lost too much weight. I’m still wearing glasses with a nerdy look. I probably look older.

I’ve become more mature [Yes, more mature than I already am!]. And hence the acceptance.

Changes — can be good.

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

ok, there is someone I can relate to. I have blogged about a similar thing. I do not care about how I look. Nor am I worried about aging part. people say that I am too thin, and some envy me as well, but I love myself the way I am and I urge everyone to do so. I have got a few grey hair but that does not worry me. wrinkles will take time as i m yet to reach the age. but not too far also as I will be thirty in a couple of years. I love to wear specs so i have a zero number glasses. and I find geeky look hot πŸ˜›

    PB:

It is a wonderful feeling to like us as we are. Only when we love ourselves, it radiates through others as well. But sometimes I notice that this feeling slightly alters with mood-swings. The gray, wrinkles, laugh-lines are all fine milestones of the ages we have passed and the paths we have trodden.

Life is much more beautiful when one welcomes all the changes πŸ™‚

    Loved this self-revelation!

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Joy always,
    Susan

How we look is all relative no more important at 75 than it was at 25 – it’s how we feel that counts.

Nice! I don’t know when I’ll reach that level of acceptance. But I know that I’m getting there!

Lol at wearing glasses despite not having any number. I must say I prefer glasses to contacts. IT makes me look more intelligent! =) And you don’t have wrinkles yet? Geez, that means I’m really stressed with work probably…I’m not yet 30 either…probably similar age as you… =P But I’m not too fussed….

I agree in that this feeling does change with mood swings…I was obviously in a good mood the day I noticed a new strand of grey… =) But yeah, only when we accept ourselves and love ourselves, can we expect others to love us for who we are…hope you had a good weekend…

Good for you, PB. Itseems it takes women to reach their 30s to ‘get comfortable’ with themselves. I certainly believe in that!! Not hinting at your age btw πŸ˜‰ but your post just reminded me of that πŸ™‚

Hmm…30s huh? Well, I did say in a post last year that I was 25 going on 30 or 35…that’s what happens when you are too mature in the head! =P
