Life NaBloPoMo

Currently…

I’ve been seeing this post on a few blogs {Absolutleigh, Rah, ScarletWords who were all inspired by Sometimes Sweet} and figured I’d take it up too.

Watching:

The summer of cricket. And loving it. Yes, I have been following Australia play South Africa and we’ve had two amazing games so far. I’m especially loving the Perth test that has started today because I get to watch a lot more of the game after work thanks to the time difference between Western Australia and New South Wales. And Clarkey has been brilliant during this series…only hope he can continue that!

When the cricket’s not on, I’ve been watching my DVD box set of Will and Grace. I’m up to Season 6 at the moment. I just love how dysfunctional Will and Grace’s relationship is. I sometimes wish I had a gay roommate like Will. Sigh.

Listening To:

White Noise by The Living End {the entire album} and my Matchbox Twenty CDs — North and Exile on Mainstream {the latter which has the oldies but goodies}. After watching both these bands in concert over the last month, I have been hooked to their songs. And yes, I will review The Living End’s concert within the next week. Two of my favourite songs from both bands are:

Planning:

Making plans for my friend A‘s visit from Melbourne this weekend. Also making plans in terms of work and all the stuff I have to finish before the end of the year. I’d seriously like to start 2013 on a fresh note and not have pending paper work and reports to bring home! I’m also planning on catching up on all the blogs I follow and replying to comments on mine after my friend leaves. Finally, on the planning list is things to buy for a few friends for Christmas.

Thinking about:

A lot of things. Some random. Work. Clients. Wine. Next meet up for the groups I’ve joined. All the things I have to catch up on in a few weeks. The few days I will have time off from work at the end of this month. The BEACH.

Looking forward to:

My day off on Monday. I’ll still be working on a report but at least I might get to sleep in. And watch the cricket. And spend time with my fur-babies. I’m also looking forward to the weekend with my friend A. It’s been a whole year since we met. Looking forward to our team Christmas lunch in a couple of weeks. Planning on wearing a new dress I bought when I went on that spending spree.

Reading:

I just started reading The Happiest Refugee by Anh Do. I think he’s a great comedian and I can’t wait to finish this book. I’ll definitely review it on the blog.

Making me happy:

Reading this in the news today. It makes me so happy to see kindness in this hard world. Apart from that, I have a couple of my selectively mute clients talking to people other than their family and me. And one of my difficult clients completely uninterested in therapy has shifted ever-so-slightly in her motivation levels and is actually open to practising a couple of therapeutic techniques. Seeing a beautiful dawn sky on my way to the gym at 5 a.m makes me really happy! It’s the small things!

Dawn sky

I’m linking over with Flog Yo Blog Friday over at With Some Grace.

On that note, this is also my last post for the month of November. Which means I have successfully completed NaBloPoMo! 🙂

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

I like this “currently…” meme. What a great idea. Just found your blog through FYBF. Looks like you’ve got a lot of cool things currently going on.

I am also interested in psychology and I am a sufferer of anxiety, although at the moment it is under control.

Hope you have a great weekend!

I’ve heard lots of good things about The Happiest Refugee. Looking forward to your thoughts on the book. Also, good on ya on making small baby steps with some stuck clients. Totally understand the joy when they finally shift in their motivation – it’s like, “YYIPPPEEE!! I’m getting somewhere!!!”
