Matchbox Twenty in Concert

My friend C and I went for the Matchbox Twenty concert on Wednesday the 31st of October. Evermore and INXS were the support acts. It was a last minute decision for us and we bought the tickets only a couple of weeks prior to the actual concert. Our seats weren’t too bad given when we booked our tix.

The show started at 7 pm on the dot with Evermore taking centre stage. They sang some of their older tunes which I love and some from their upcoming album. Then came INXS and while initially I found myself comparing the new lead singer to the late Michael Hutchence. However, halfway through, he redeemed himself and was pretty damn good. Finally, Matchbox Twenty came on. And also rocked the house for a couple of hours. They sang quite a few songs from their recent album {which I am totally hooked on to these days!} as well as their old ones. I also realised that they have been around since I was 12. Boy, I feel old.

All in all, it was a great night of music for about 4 hours. And all for just $84.

I’ll leave you with some not-so-great photos of the day:

I did take a couple of videos but they weren’t that great. Oh. And I was also sitting next to a cute guy for the Matchbox Twenty part of the concert. So now I have two memories to live with while singing out loud to the CD. 🙂

What was the last concert you attended?

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Sounds like a great time. Glad concerts in Australia seem to be well organized, they’re such a mess here.

Oh yes…I wanted to go for Bryan Adams in Bombay years ago but had gone away that weekend. Friends who did go said it was very badly organised. Here it’s so nice…and you don’t ever get groped!
