…by Hy Conrad.
Adrian Monk: Genius. Detective. Able to see things others may miss. Consultant to the San Francisco Police Department. One of the main reasons the SFPD has a high success rate when it comes to solving crimes. Oh, and also suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder and a zillion phobias. Along with his assistant/partner Natalie Teeger (who happens to be studying for her private investigator license}, Monk is invited to solve the murder of a clown by Stottlemyer and the SFPD. However, at the same time, Natalie is interested in another case: the suicide of Miranda Bigley, the leader of ‘Best Possible Me’. Natalie doesn’t think Miranda’s suicide is all what it seems. The only hitch is that she and Monk both witnessed it. Monk though, wants to focus on the clown case despite his intense phobia of clowns.
Will this break the partnership?
Will Natalie be able to prove herself as a detective?
And will Monk overcome his fear of clowns to solve what may be the biggest case in the history of the SFPD?
To know all this, you have to read the book.
When I got the opportunity to review this book, I jumped at the chance because I’ve loved the TV series. I even own the box set. And I must say, the book didn’t disappoint. It is narrated by Natalie and Monk is just as he is on the show. Annoying. Obsessive. Compulsive. Hilarious. And of course, brilliant! The book had me hooked throughout and laughing out loud in several instances.
In short, I highly recommend it as a light mystery read and for all fans of the TV show!
