I am a geek

This is a sponsored review for MobileZap

Well, sort of.

I’m an Android fan. More importantly, I am a Google fan. You see, I own a Google Nexus phone (by Samsung) and the latest Google Nexus 7 2 tablet. I have been stalking Google to find out more about the Nexus 5. Not because there’s anything wrong with my Nexus. It still works perfectly. But I feel like I could do with the latest phone they have on offer.

During one of my recent hikes, I was mentioning to a friend about the rumours surrounding Android 4.4 and another hiker who has been getting to know me only recently was quite surprised and went “Oh! So you’re a geek!“.

Well, maybe I am. πŸ˜€

I am after all, the IT support person at work. Whenever anything is wrong with anyone’s computer, they call me. I seem to have a magical touch ahem. I am no IT nerd but I do like technology. To the point of being a bit addicted sometimes. Anyway, so when I got contacted to review a tablet case for my Nexus 7 2, I had no hesitation to say yes. When I bought my Nexus tablet, I had also purchased a cover with a built-in keyboard. Because I’m a bit old-fashioned like that. Β But the one offered to me was without a keyboard. Β Here’s what it looks like:

Yes, it’s purple! πŸ˜€

Β What I like about it:

  • The colour!
  • It is compact and lighter than the one I purchased.
  • Fits in my handbag with ease.
  • It is very sleek.
  • The tablet unlocks itself when you open the cover and shuts down when closed.

What I don’t like about it:

  • Not having an actual keyboard

Lately I have been using my tablet to read and catch up on blogs in bed. And consequently, have been using this cover because I’m not typing much. It has been pretty convenient!

Do you have a tablet? Do you find that you need a cover with a keyboard or are you fine with the touchpad?

Do share!

***I was provided with the tablet cover for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own. If you are looking at buying covers for the Nexus 7 2 or other mobile accessories, you can check out the MobileZap website to see if anything suits your needs.***

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Its been a long time since I read your blog. Dont worry it isn’t because it got boring. its more because I had been getting a little too busy to read all the stuff I read! So have sort of restricted my reading to more concise stuff like twitter. I had to read when the headline “I am a geek” came up in my stream πŸ™‚ and it was a pleasant surprised to see the changes on the blog.

Anyway – to answer your question I have a nexus too and I’m quite comfortable with the touch keyboard. Don’t really think I would want to add the bulk of an actual physical keyboard. Also I seem to almost always use it in portrait rather than landscape mode. A physical keyboard would force me to use it in landscape. Maybe you could suppress your urge for the physical keyboard by trying out the myriad of alternate keyboards on the play store. I would recommend swift key . It learns the way you type and its auto suggest is much better than most of the keyboards I have used plus its quite a bit more accurate. have fun exploring. πŸ™‚

Welcome! It has been a looooong time! πŸ™‚ Heaps of changes since you last visited…including self-hosting and stuff… πŸ˜€

I have got to look into this Swift Key thing…sounds pretty good.

By the way, any idea on when the Nexus 5 is releasing? Was going to buy the Nexus 4 but thought I might as well wait. They better not disappoint me!

I am an Apple fan, and love the whole environment. I also love prettifying my devices with custom covers and stuff. This looks like a nice one, enjoy πŸ™‚

On an un-related note, how did you create that pin it hover on your blog images? I’d like to try it out on my blog too πŸ™‚

I am an Apple fan too but husband got himself Android phone. I think Android is great. This cover looks great.. I have something similar for my ipad. I sometimes drop things so the cover helps me protect my ipad. Like the new look of your blog πŸ™‚
