Time for an Imperfect Giveaway

It’s been a week since I migrated to the new domain and to say I’m excited and pleased with the new look is an understatement. I figured, the one way to celebrate would be to host a giveaway. The blog reaches its 7 year anniversary in October this year and with the new changes and some new plans in mind, this is the perfect time for an ‘Imperfect’ Giveaway.

Logo - Red

So what’s up for grabs?

1. A copy of Brené Brown’s ‘The Gifts of Imperfection‘. Let’s face it: it’s after reading this book I had the epiphany of being open and showing my vulnerabilities. I also felt more confident about being imperfect. And well, it also played a big role in the name of my blog. If you want a taste of Brené Brown,  you have to check out her TED talk below:

moleskins

2. Your choice of a Moleskin: As bloggers we are all writers. Yes, I firmly believe we are. And if like me, you enjoy jotting down your ideas on paper every now and then {in spite of our smart phones}, then you will love this notebook to carry around with you.

What do you need to do to enter the giveaway? It’s not too hard:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

The small stuff:

The Giveaway closes at 11:59 p.m. AEST on 31st July 2014. It is open worldwide.  Winners are chosen randomly {either a hat or an online randomised choice thingy}. The more entries you have, the greater your chances. If you live in a country where Book Depository delivers to, you are likely to receive it sooner. Else, I will order it and send it to you. Please note that this gveaway is not sponsored. I just personally like the products and they are a big part of this new space of mine.

So what are you waiting for?

Join in on the fun!

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

I frustration cry. It’s so far from perfect but you know what? It really helps. It just lets it out. I used to think I had to ‘fix’ that, but now I figure it’s good in the long run.

You are one gutsy real lady…
I am sure if you have enjoyed reading this book, so will I 🙂

My imperfection…. I have to name just ONE …Thats a difficult job ..
I have rapid growth of facial hair on my cheeks, chin and neck .. To add I have very sensitive skin so anything I do like even waxing adversely affects my skin and leads to breakouts, rashes etc..
Its difficult to live with it, go out meet people like that..but I still do..
Its a imperfection which I have now accepted 🙂
This is just one… there are many more 😉

I have never been okay with depending on people. I’m talking everything from carrying my own bags, moving my own furniture to bigger things in life. I have wanted to be independent to a fault and that’s not a good think when it comes to relationships, romantic or otherwise. A lover needs to know that he is needed in your life, a parent needs to know that she is still needed, despite having a grown up child, a friend needs to know that she/he will be called for to cry on, to share a joke, even just like that. More than all that, I need to be able to let myself depend on people, because, lets face it, I cannot possibly be that self-sufficient. Human beings are not made that way. In the past year, I have been conditioning myself to let people pull out chairs for me, to listen to me when I vent, letting myself believe that its okay, that it doesn’t show any weakness on my part. Hopefully, it will get better with time.

I’ve watched and listened to Brené Brown’s TED talk that you’ve posted here and was immediately hooked on because I could relate to it somewhere. I’ve always been vulnerable (not too much though), and in a way it has kept me content somehow. People have time and again taken advantage of this quality of mine, but I have learnt to identify and deal with such people now. In a way, being vulnerable is an imperfection – it’s a weakness as well as a strength, but it lets me be me.
