Life lessons

Never say never

Never say Never

I said I’d never wear dresses or skirts. In the past 24 months, that’s all I’ve worn to work.

I said I’d never wear pink. I now own two pink tops and a gorgeous pink dress.

I said I’d never wear make-up. I now do my face up almost every day.

I said I’d never learn to cook apart from the basics. I now enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes.

I said I’d never have my relationship status on Facebook. It now reads ‘engaged‘ thanks to my gorgeous Partner.

I said I’d never be the kind of girl who needs to talk to her partner every day. I now am and miss him when I don’t.

I said I’d never be one to shop. Last year, I spent a whole lot of money on buying clothes online.

I said I’d never be like my dad who got road rage often. Not a day goes by without me swearing at other drivers.

I said I’d never be like my mum’s side of the family who are anxious and need to know when you have reached a place. I amย exactly like them and need the Partner and friends to let me know if they safely get to places.

I said I’d never buy an Apple product. I bought myself an iPod {my very first} earlier this year and am currently eyeing a MacBook Air ๐Ÿ˜

I’ve said I’d never do a lot of things since I was a young girl. Turns out, I should never say never. Life changes you. Experiences change you. People change you. And you change.

So why say never?

Were there things you said you’d never do but turns out you did it anyway?

Do share!ย

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Lol at being like your mom and dad. They show up through us, don’t they?
My first never say never is one of yours too – I said I’d never wear pink – and now discovered pink’s not so bad. I said I’d never dress flashy and it happens I own a pair of silver sneakers and quite like them, I thought I didn’t like kids and would never have them – am ‘obsessivemom’ mom now with twins and I find I quite enjoy being with kids. Life’s strange and it’s even stranger how we don’t know ourselves at all.

One thing that quickly came to mind is that I always said that I would never draw again. I would never do my art again…but I am happy to say that I am doing it again. It restores my soul! โ™ฅ

I used to say that a lot — I’d never do that. Then I changed it to PROBABLY. However, one thing I will NEVER EVER DO is smoke, That you can take to the bank

This is so very true! I wrote a post about it awhile back, actually – how so many of the things I said I’d NEVER do actually ended up happening. It’s a better idea to be open to possibilities, I think.

Is’nt it human nature that when we are impulsive we say many things? At one time I was very sure that I would never join Facebook, but now I love it.

That’s funny Sanch as I recently wrote a blog or response with “Never say ‘never’! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Can’t find it now though). Anyway, for myself, I had said I would NEVER move to North Vancouver – north of Vancouver ๐Ÿ˜‰ – where it rains more often. However, Spirit guided me there and I absolutely love it there! I also said I’d NEVER move to Toronto, Ontario years prior and I did to be closer to work, rather than commute three hours a day which I did from quite some time! I also said I would NEVER be a secretary or work in an office and that’s what I ended up being originally AND doing! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m sure there’s more. Perhaps it’s because the mind doesn’t distinguish the word ‘not’ as in, for example, “Don’t think of the pink elephant!” And what does your brain do, but imagine the pink elephant! So if you want something to come true, say ‘never!’ That’s the only time! ๐Ÿ˜‰ <3
