Brighten up with Fresh Flowers

This post is brought to you by Fresh Flowers

Some of you probably know that I have been struggling with my mental health. I do try to stay afloat and while I have just commenced therapy, I have also been doing things to help myself. Exercise is a big one. Day trips on the weekend and some date nights with Mr Imperfect have been the others. Retail therapy has also been helpful. Except, instead of clothes and shoes, I have been buying books. Writing is something else that’s been lifting my spirits and uni has been good for that.

One thing I did differently this week was brighten up my mood with some flowers from FreshFlowers.com.au, an online florist that makes flower deliveries in Sydney.

Now, I have not always been a fan of flowers. In fact, growing up, I hated the south Indian custom of putting flowers in your hair {usually jasmine} and would run a mile from such a suggestion. I reckon I would even today. But I started to like flowers when my first boyfriend brought me a single-stemmed rose. While I am not someone who needs another person to buy me flowers, it’s still nice when it occasionally happens. Like the time Mr Imperfect bought me a bunch of coral roses on our third date. Or the yellow roses he bought some months ago.

I am perfectly happy buying myself flowers too and have done so to brighten up the house a few times in the past. Usually, it’s at the shops when I’m grocery shopping but this time around, thanks to Fresh Flowers, I got to order them. I put in my order online on Tuesday night for a bunch of Vivid Tulips, paid via my credit card {although PayPal options were also available}, chose the date I wanted it delivered and the location of delivery {my work}. I also filled out a message for myself, just because I could {It said, ‘Something to lift your spirits’}. I received a confirmation email straight after.

Around lunch time on Wednesday, I had my order delivered at work. The flowers were yet to bloom and were beautifully wrapped. Our receptionist had to mentally check if it was my birthday but then I think she assumed, like some of my colleagues, that it was from Mr Imperfect. I told the ones who know I blog the real reason behind the flowers. Upon coming home, Mr Imperfect was curious about the flowers. I joked about having a secret admirer and he bought it for a while and was a bit perplexed! 😛

Anyway, I followed the instructions that came with the bouquet and now have the flowers in my vase waiting to bloom. I cannot wait for them to start opening up and brightening up not just my unit but my days. After all, how can you not feel happy around yellows and oranges?

Do you ever buy flowers to brighten up your day? What are your favourite flowers?

Do share!

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Lovely flowers Sanch, I hope that they brighten your days and help you feel better! 🙂
I have always loved flowers, and used to spend quite some time getting different combinations made from the florist when I was growing up.. Even now, I pick up flowers for myself at the grocery store, and they do certainly bring a smile to my face! 🙂

Your flowers are gorgeous. They look fresh and cheerful and exotic. I buy flowers all the time. I was brought up in a house with a large garden and my mum often had these rather intricate arrangements around the house. Now I live in a flat and so I have to buy them. Sometimes just two or three gerberas are enough to cheer up the living room – those are my favourites only because they last longest.

Sometimes I will pick up a beautiful bunch. I do get jealous of those people luck enough to have flower markets close by.

Flowers are gorgeous. My grannie always said she only liked flowers if they were still alive growing on a plant and I sort of agree. However, what lady doesn’t like getting a bunch of flowers?

Flowers are great for mental health! Funnily, I just ordered some yellow lilies for a friend from Fresh Flowers. I love how they send the flowers as buds and a few days later they bloom. I love your tulips though. Gorgeous x
