Failure

nature-person-hands-girl-e1443579805578

Aged eleven
In grade seven
Filled with dreams and ambition

A public speaker
Confident with teachers
Tried out for a recitation competition

Forgot lines
My tongue entwined
Left the stage in humiliation

Bitter taste
Of failure faced
Now leaves me with trepidation

Hey Saanchi, we are allowed to fail and get up to conquer the world. We are human beings, after all:)

The bitter taste of defeat…I have tasted that before! Brilliant take. Failure never tastes very good.

I can relate to this. Blank on stage. That’s me.

I’ve struggled with stage fear for years initially. Since I was a topper in school, I was called to give all the speeches and host all the shows. I used to sweat and panic before each now. As years passed, I slowly got over it.

I now host stuff at work peacefully without any glitch. Yeah, having a sense of humor really helps the situation as well 😉

I hope you got over it too.

I see this every day, with all of my seventh graders. I think it’s an adolescent thing, but so difficult to work through!
