Quotable Quotes

A while back, there were several bloggers writing their three favourite quotes over three days and then passing on the baton to other bloggers. Chicky passed it on to me what seems like ages ago and I thought I’d write about my three favourite quotes of all time and why they are significant to me.

quote01

When I was a teenager, I was going through a tough time in my HSC and then later again during my undergraduate years. Around the time, I came across one quote that really helped me through. It was this quote above. It made me realise that no matter what shit I have endured over the years, I can still decide to change things around now and make sure my future is different. It’s always been a great reminder for me and has also been my email signature on hotmail for a while!

quote03

I found this quote back in 2013 when I started making big changes in my life and truly following my motto for that year of moving out of my comfort zone. It turned out to be one of the best years of my life even though it was filled with ups and downs. I really pushed myself socially and found out what a different person I can be!

quote02

This quote has been dear to me a lot more recently…probably in the past 24 months or so. I was trying to find something inspiring to put up at work and came across this quote last year. Given that my motto for 2014 was to Live my Life, this was perfect. It’s a good reminder of how I live my own life and I’m not merely existing {although yes, on my tired days I feel like that’s all I’m doing} but really living.

Have you got any favourite quotes and stories behind them?

Do share!

Our of the three quotes the one by Donald Walsh resonates most with me at this point. It is so easy to stick within your comfort zone but way more exciting when you move out. But how hard it is!

most of my “quotes” are from the Bible. one that isn’t – “it’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice”

The last quote just became one of my favorite quotes. 🙂
Resonates with one of my favorite quotes “I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.”

Considering the effort, physical and mental, it is taking to get healthy, the first quote has become a mantra i have to repeat to myself several hundred times a day.

Its okay to fall today, its okay to fail today, but only as long as you can start all over again tomorrow.

Maya Angelou would be my favorite, although the other two are great too. I can see how you are living it out, Sanch!
    PS: Love the graphics.

I agree with Corinne and my fav from these 3 is Maya’s. As a teenager, I was very inspired by this one,

“A diamond is just a piece of coal – that did well under pressure”

I do love inspirational quotes but my favourite is “The light at the end of the tunnel is probably the light of an oncoming train”.
I know it’s pessimistic but it’s heartening in a way. Think about it!

Those are seriously great quotes! (I would have trouble picking three, I think.) I love them all.

I’ve never really thought about that before – having quotes which resonate at certain times and then remind you of times in your life when you found them. To be honest, I think for me it would be song lyrics! I really like the Carl Bard one. Thanks for sharing them with us. =)

I’m a total word nerd and love “collecting quotes” … you’ve inspired me to do a similar post but somehow I don’t think I’ll be able to limit myself to just 3!
