If we were having coffee, I’d welcome you warmly and ask how your week has been. I’d offer you a cuppa and if you didn’t drink coffee, I’d also have teas on offer. Or hot chocolate if you prefer.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you I had plans to go to the Blue Mountains today to check out the sculptures at Scenic world. Unfortunately, those plans were cancelled thanks to the miserable weather — it’s been rain and wind, doom and gloom. I’d tell you that instead of the Blue Mountains, we ended up going to the movies and watched The lady in the van. It was all right — some laugh out loud moments, some poignant ones.
If we were having coffee I’d tell you that my week has been topsy-turvy. There have been good days and not-so-good days. I’ve been enjoying exercising during the week but I have also had moments of just crying and feeling depths of sadness at some point. I’d tell you I’m glad it’s the long weekend but how I’m not looking forward to going back to work next week.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about how I caught up with colleagues from my previous job on Thursday. While it was nice to see them, I realised that not much has changed. It made me realise that had I still been there, I’d be just as miserable as I’d been last year. I’d tell you that I realised maybe it was good to move after all. Even if I’m not a hundred percent happy in my current job.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you about the antics Pebbles and Buttons have gotten up to. I think they have been glad to have me around a little bit more this week thanks to a couple of days of annual leave and a day spent working from home. They have both been super-affectionate and cuddly with me and love to sleep with me at night.
If we were having coffee, I’d also like to listen to all you have to say about your week.
So tell me — how have you been?
Until next time,
