Welcome, take a seat. Get comfortable. It’s that time of the week when we sit back, relax with a cuppa and have a chat. Can I just say, even though I’m not actually sitting back, it’s nice to imagine sitting and relaxing? Especially after the week I’ve had.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you if I thought last week was bad, this week turned out to be even more exhausting. It started with a busy few days at work as well as after work. I had something on every night this week. But work made it worse. You see, something happened at work on Thursday and given confidentiality, I can’t actually talk about it but let’s just say as a result, I was inundated with clients non-stop all Thursday and Friday. It got so bad on Friday that I didn’t have time for breakfast or lunch. I managed a quick snack and coffee around 10:30 but that was it till I finished work. I felt like a stiff drink from 11 in the morning but had to wait close to 5 p.m. before I downed two glasses of red quickly. Not a great coping strategy but I needed it.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you how I’m sad I didn’t exercise as much as I wanted to. I only managed two days at the gym because of hardly any sleep and being too tired to wake up in the mornings. I also slept one morning on the train and couldn’t blog one night because of how tired I was.
If we were having coffee, it wouldn’t be all doom and gloom. I’d tell you how I had a great evening on Monday when I went to watch Liane Moriarty speak at Mosman Library. I also managed to get her to sign my book and get a picture with her. Such a fan-girl moment! She also told me I had a lovely name! 🙂 I finished Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, a book that I enjoyed but which also made me miss Rowling’s writing. Finally, I was invited to watch Absolutely Fabulous by Nuffnang on Wednesday night at Hoyts Luxe which is such an awesome venue!
In spite of that, I’d tell you that generally, I’m feeling like shit. The weather has been crappy too all this week. I am working today which means I kinda don’t get a full weekend. I have plans with friends this arvo for some exercise and then tonight for dinner. I’m hoping to go up the coast tomorrow for a day trip. I need a holiday. A break from my workplace. Or just a change in jobs.
If we were having coffee, I’d most certainly not just be talking about myself. I’d ask how your week has been and tell you to share it with me.
Until next time,
