Week 7 of #12WBT February 2017

Is it just me or are the weeks flying by? Last week was Week 7 of my 12WBT journey. I was proud I exercised 5 days and walked on Saturday but not so proud that I didn’t give it my all due to just feeling really tired and exhausted. I’m actually worried my mental health is not doing so well. The exercise helps keep things at bay but I’m noticing things that were similar to the last time I was depressed.

Anyway, last week, I kept my meals simple. I just made one thing for all my lunches and one for all my dinners. Yes it was a bit boring but I didn’t care as much. The food was still delicious though. For my lunch, I had a Mexican bean salad and for dinner it was seared tofu and noodle salad. On Saturday night, I made the Pasta with beans, pesto and potato. That was delicious! I caved on Sunday as I was in a crappy mental state and ate a peanut butter ice cream {weirdly, it made me feel worse!}

On weigh-in Wednesday, I was apprehensive to step on the scales after eating way too much the week before. But I did. And was pleasantly surprised. I actually lost 600 grams. So far, that’s an overall loss of 2.5 kilos which is halfway to where I want to get to.

We start Week 8 today which is the mini-milestone week where we measure ourselves again and complete our fitness test. That should be interesting. I hope I have had gains in the fitness department and losses in the measurements. We’ll find out on Wednesday.

Hope you have a good week ahead!

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

Sounds like a bit of a rough week for you, but you did so well. Those lunches and dinners look delicious. I have a habit of batch cooking on Sunday so that I have lunch to take to work for the entire week. That way I’m not tempted to buy stuff or eat anything too out there, because it tastes great while I’m eating it but I end up feeling gross afterwards.

Great job so keep up the good work. I think when we start seeing results it really spurs us to keep going. Here’s to the next month for more progress.

Good round-up and good for you to recognise when your mental health was flagging. One thing I know now is that comfort foods no longer help me. I have very few anymore anyway and nothing like the quantity I did get through. Chocolate is still around but i have far less of it. I cannot eat to soothe ‘IBS’ or how I feel about it so I now eat leaner and much less. It is not the ideal way but the weight loss over almost 3 years has been helpful to my physical capabilities I guess.
Congrats for sticking with the program so to speak, and good luck as you keep going.

That pasta dish on the left looks absolutely delicious! I think you’re doing a wonderful job, and you sound very self aware. I’m trying to stay off chocolate starting yesterday…. I’ve been eating way too much lately. And, like your ice-cream, when I do eat it I’m always saying afterwards how yucky it makes me feel.

The salads sound delicious. Repetition can make meals boring but it sure is convenient and I don’t mind it much. This coming month I am aiming for some weightless too – not much but even a small move of the weighing scales in the right direction would make me happy. Glad I read your post. it gave me the enthu to keep going.

Your lunch looks so delicious. I am always struggling to make a proper meal plan. Looks like whatever I buy rice or bread can’t be avoided. I need to find better ideas. Kudos for being on track. One peanut butter ice cream is ok once in a while. ?

The food looks really good, Sanch. I am sorry that you are feeling worn out mentally. Perhaps some meditation and pranayam on a regular basis? Weight loss wise you are doing a great job. Good luck for the rest of the challenge.

    Good job hun!
Although it can seem boring, I eat the same breakfast and lunch every.single.day. I’m such a creature of habit and my body likes what I make, so I figure, why stray from what works, right? It doesn’t work for everyone, though.

The food you made looks DELISH!
Good luck and best wishes, hun. 🙂

Wow, your culinary efforts are rather impressive , must say. It’s good to see that the efforts are also reaping in the benefits. Losing 2.5 Kilos is very good, I must say. It’s always safe to go for a gradual weight loss anyway, so you need to be happy about it. Hope the cold weather is not making the depression worse for you. Try and keep warm and drink plenty of fluids. Get well soon, Sanch and stay positive. Remember, this too shall pass. 🙂
