#Monchielle: Strong Woman #atozchallenge

I am a strong woman
Independent and free
I live by my own rules;
As I’m not here to please
I will not suffer fools

I am a strong woman
who does not need a man
So when asked on a date,
Witty conversation
I do appreciate

I am a strong woman
with a brain of my own;
Please don’t diss my choices
by pretending to care
in your haughty voices

I am a strong woman
who can live by herself
I enjoy being alone
and with others as well
I’m no one’s but my own

    I look forward to your poems every day. New thoughts, new words and a new form of poetry. English Literature never sounded so interesting in school. Thanks Sanch!

    That is the spirit Sanch. Every woman is strong from inside, only some come to know of this power sooner and some a little late in life.

    Lovely! A woman does not belong to the weaker sex but she is an embodiment of strength. Nicely conveyed.

    Well written post. Strong female characters belong not just in novels, but poetry as well, as you’ve demonstrated here. It gives readers something to aspire to, to long for, to be proud of. You have an excellent poem here. Keep up the great work.

    This time I only focused on the poem and not on the form. Bloody brilliant, my friend!

    Lovely and strong Monchielle, Sanch! It has a good flow, and almost flawless syllable count, though I admit it could come down to how you choose to pronounce a word “being”. In the third line of the fourth stanza you write “I enjoy being alone”, which I count to be seven syllables. Changing this to “I like being alone” would fix the count, and keep the message you try to convey.
