Weekly gratitude 2018 3/52

gratitude

Happy Sunday everyone! I can’t believe it’s already Sunday. This week seems to have whizzed past. It’s been a busy week and predominantly a good one with lots to be grateful for. Without further ado, here are some things I’m grateful for from the 14th of January till the 20th of January 2018.

Work friends finding out it was my birthday, buying me a cupcake and announcing it to the whole office

Lovely Harry Potter gifts from my sister arriving on my birthday

My mate A messaging me on the morning of my birthday and then calling me after work. It’s significant because I had no expectations and he is quite forgetful {apart from his wife and kids’ birthdays} but I was touched when he remembered

Speaking to my parents and my sister

Birthday drinks and dinner with friends from work on Friday night and awesome gifts from them

New bookcases at home

A very therapeutic supervision session with my supervisor

Catching up with my lovely friend N for dinner in Sydney on Saturday night

Booking flights for India in November to visit my parents and managing to include a side trip to Bangalore to meet a bunch of bloggers

Getting compliments for my hair on a day I actually thought I was having a bad hair day

Book club midweek and catching up with friends

A ten-year-old client thinking I was a teenager and being genuinely shocked when I told him I completed my HSC seventeen years ago

In spite of some stressors at work, it has been a lovely week. I didn’t want to make a big deal of my birthday this week partly because it wasn’t a milestone birthday and partly because after 30, the years don’t seem to matter. And in my head, I’ve been 34 for a few months. I’ve been touched and grateful by the love from friends and family – all this without my birthday being on Facebook.

What are you grateful for this week?

Do share!

Feels like a happy week! Loved the pictures and of course the gestures from friends and family means how much all that means.
Very excited to see you this year end. Like I said before, you don’t have to worry about staying in Bangalore. If you don’t mind a small house and sleeping on a mattress, you have got a home here 🙂 Looking forward to seeing you. <3

I’m so looking forward to meeting you and honestly, I do not mind the size of the house or any of those things. I will happily sleep on a mattress or even a couch! 😀

Sanch, you don’t look 34 🙂 Happy birthday. Gifts from family and friends, what more can one ask for on birthdays ? Lovely pictures of your gifts. Why are you being partial to Bangalore blogger friends? Delhi guys not dear to you? Share the dates of your stay in India and we might bump into each other somewhere, as you know I travel a lot 🙂

Thanks Sulekha. And I’m not partial to Bangalore bloggers…just that I ‘know’ most of them and have for a while so it made sense to pick that place. I’ll also be seeing Bombay bloggers as that’s my base

Love your gratitude recap, Sanch. Happy birthday again! It’s great you enjoyed your birthday! Not surprised about your client assuming you were far younger! Hugs!
Congratulations on the bookshelves. I am working on mine too!

When in Bangalore, remember you have a home to come to.

Happy Birthday!! I had a client of mine (teenager) tell me recently he swears I’m 23 but I am actually 26 and I had a kid at a halloween party genuinely think I was 19 and was shocked lol it definitely felt great… thank God for baby face is all I have to say! These are great gratitudes and I agree with the 10 year old- you look amazing! (But 34 is super young!)

Hey belated birthday wishes. Your friends are so cool… Loved how they made your day special. And you definitely don’t look your age. You look so much younger. All in all, a great week 😊

Happy birthday once again and this seems to have been a lovely week that you had. All those lovely gifts and phone calls are truly precious! My kids also know you now since you sent those yummy chocolate biscuits. Looking forward to meeting you in December. Hope nothing else comes in the way. Stay happy.

Thank you! Yes it was lovely to get those calls and the thoughtful gifts! Looking forward to meeting you and hoping nothing comes in the way. Glad your kids enjoyed the Tim Tams. One of my faves but I try not to buy them as I have no self-control!

    Hey sweetie,

Sounds like you had a decent birthday week and that is SO thoughtful of your workmates to acknowledge your day and getting you a little something sweet. 🙂
I gotta ask, your collage picture, what is the dish in the bottom right corner? Is that an egg??? Or something else? I can’t quite tell but it looks so yummy.

That’s awesome you get to visit your parents this year AND tack on some time for Bangalore. I really would love to go to India someday but no one I know has interest…. maybe I’ll just go by myself someday.

I trust you’ve had another good/okay week. It’s the weekend and nothing else matters. 😉

    Xo
